We ❤️ Family Promise of Brandon
Several times a year, we partner with Family Promise to transform our fellowship hall into housing for families and children who are experiencing homelessness in our community. The mission of Family Promise is to "help homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response." We provide a safe place to sleep, and we serve breakfast and dinner every night for a week. If you would like to provide a meal, serve as an overnight host, or volunteer to do some laundry, send us a message at office@limonavillagechapel.com.
We ❤️ Brandon High School
Did you know that we have a Prayer Circle every Wednesday morning from 7:45 - 8:15am at Brandon High School? We invite the faculty and staff of the school to join us in the Wellness Room to enjoy a donut, have a moment of prayer, and to feel refreshed and motivated at the beginning of their day. We ❤️ Limona Elementary School
Once a month, we send a team of volunteers to help with All Pro Dad at Limona Elementary School. All Pro Dad is an opportunity for fathers to connect with their children. We share "pride moments," promote conversation between dads and kids about character traits like honesty and generosity, and share breakfast. The church provides cereal boxes, juice, and water bottles for this monthly gathering. The mission of All Pro Dad is to "help men love and lead their family well." Ready to help? We ❤️ the LVC Children's Center
At Limona Village Chapel, our Children's Center is proud to offer preschool, VPK, after-school care, and summer day camp services to the Brandon community. Our teachers have a genuine heart and passion for the care they provide. We help kids grow in their language development, reading, writing, math, social studies, science, music, art, and physical education. We also have a biweekly Chapel Time with our pastor, where the children get to hear classic Bible Stories! Using the church bus, we offer transportation from Limona Elementary for our after-school care program.
We ❤️ Pack a Sack
A couple years ago, we learned that roughly 60,000 children in Hillsborough County are struggling with food insecurity. We read a Bible Story about how Jesus was able to feed 5,000 people in a day, and we set a goal to accomplish that in a year. In that moment, Pack a Sack was born! Today, Pack a Sack is delivering 10,000 meals a year for children and families who are facing food insecurity at Limona Elementary School and Hugo Schmidt Elementary School. Ready to help? We ❤️ our Homeless Friends
During the summer of 2023, we invited families to join us in the fellowship hall for a generosity project. Using supplies donated by the church, we assembled more than two hundred "manna bags" full of socks, snacks, hygiene products, and a note of encouragement for our homeless friends in Brandon. It's amazing what God can do through the extravagant generosity of our community!
