Are you ready to live missionally?
One of the habits of leader is living your life with intentionality. One of the ways God's calls us to live is missionally. In Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus reminds us that as we go through life we should be about making disciples and teaching them the ways of God. We call this Missional Living.
How does one do this? Author Michael Frost wrote about a formula that he came up with to help his church in New Zealand to live missional lives. This formula is known as B.E.L.L.S. and is simply a tool to help us live out our missional calling. Here is a brief description of BELLS but you are encouraged to download the attached article from Michael Frost himself:
THE FIVE HABITS OF A HIGHLY MISSIONAL PERSON
Taking the BELLS Challenge to Fulfill the Mission of God
by Michael Frost
B - BLESS
I will bless three people this week, at least one of whom is not a member of our church.
E - EAT
I will eat with three people this week, at least one of whom is not a member of our church.
L - LISTEN
I will spend at least one period of the week listening for the Spirit's voice.
L - LEARN
I will spend at least one period of the week learning Christ.
S - SENT
I will journal throughout the week all the ways I alerted others to the universal reign of God through Christ.
The challenge is to get into the habit of practicing these five things (bless, eat, listen, learn, sent) on a daily basis so that you can begin to live the missional life.
